Cliffs of Moher saw their 1 millionth visitor this year August 7. Dublin Hotels are packed. Trinity college with 800 student rooms for rent is full 3 nights out of 5.
The Wild Atlantic Highway promotion has exceeded expectations and is causing massive traffic jams.
It is a fabulous country and I can't wait to go back. In any month but June/July and August.
Booking.com many nights only had rooms for $300 plus. We found a wonderful alternative for booking rooms in the countryside. It's www.bandbireland.com. we consistently found 70 to 90 euro per night accommodation in gorgeous, friendly homes. Little hard to negotiate but understand the booking is per person not per room. You can reserve a double room but you will pay for 2 people at rates from 35 to 45 € per person/ night.
By the way the stuff on this website was much nicer than what we got trying airbandb.com.
