Italy Veneto October 2025

Anna, I recently stayed at Hotel Dalla Mora and found it to be of exceptional value. It’s simple and modest, but spotlessly clean and the breakfast tasty. It faces a side canal, so it’s very quiet while still feeling quintessentially Venetian. The owners pay great attention to detail in everything they do, and they also allow you to leave your luggage with them before check-in or after check-out.
Thank you!

It is 7 years since we had 4 weeks in an apartment not far from Hotel Dallas Mora and it is a lovely area and not crowded off the main trails from the station. We were on a side canal opposite Adriatico Mar a great wine bar. Natural wines only and no Aperol Spritz! We stopped for our spritz during our walks then visited the wine bar on the way to dinner or after dinner, sometimes both. The restaurant Estro is very near there and we enjoyed quite a few meals there. Walk away from the main trails and you will find it uncrowded.
We aren’t travelling overseas due to age and health but I would do it again given half a chance. I’m glad you decided to have some nights there. It is quiet once the day tourists have left.

I would second Estro. It has a small menu that changes frequently but the food and wine were very good on my visits. Another good wine bar in the immediate area is the Cantina Arnaldi which has some outdoor seating. Katia and Andrea (owners) are very nice and happy to make recommendations based on your preferences.

Chipping in late here but wanted to be the 2nd person to suggest Asolo as a great place to visit. Albergo Al Sole was our favourite hotel in the town although there is now a more upmarket option.
The town is known for it’s connection to Eleonara Duse, an actress who was noted for being the best of her generation as well as for it’s literary connection.
We adored The Veneto & went back several times to explore The Palladio trail which was richly rewarding. We enjoyed Vicenza, The Teatro Olimpico is not to be missed but we’d go on a trail of villas & gardens too. My particular favourite was “ The Monumental Garden of Valsanzibio”.
I believe the Veneto is a much overlooked part of Italy & strongly agree that it’s small towns are worthy of discovery.
Petrarch chose to spend his final days in the region after all.

Venice is glorious. We’d sometimes stay on one of its islands to escape the madness of the city & enjoy fabulous views over the city.

I’m envious of your trip,

W

I highly recommend Ca’ Barba, a B&B in Venice. Very friendly owner, easy to wander around away from the bustle. I stayed there about 18 months ago.
