Montalbano/Ragusa

I know many of you have watched the Montalbano DVD's and have even visited the area where it was filmed. We are big fans of all of his shows, including the Young Montalbano. Many scenes are filmed around very large, old factory buildings, outside of town, overlooking the sea. I have tried researching these buildings, but can't find anything. Does anyone know what these factories were used for? Perhaps, during WWII or preWWII? They all seem to be in good shape, and it's sad seeing them all sitting there. I assume, the area was once a thriving industry!!!

We have visited several of the locations and I am writing a Day Trip about it. I will see if I can find something about this. If you find out where and what they are, can you post with the info?
