Napoli and Surrounds

.Thank you all for these amazing insights. Now I have to decide between Napoli and Salerno!

We spent 3 days in Napels, only because we thought we were going to get to Pompeii and Mount Vesuvius. Bad planning on my part, plus a few other things. Did make it to Pompeii !!!

But, where we stayed in Napels was neat!!!

Spent five in Salerno !

Suggest do both cities

As someone stated you use the regular trains, so can get around with ease, and comfort.

Too bad you only have three days! I absolutely love Naples--the Ave. Tribunali is so much fun to walk down (I live in a big city so the intense activity didn't disturb me.). But all the other suggestions--the island of Ischia, with its castle and Negombo Springs (series of natural hot and cold spring stations), Ravello and its almost too beautiful views, Positano with its views plus great restaurants, Herculaneum, Pompeii--I've been to the area twice, but always for 2-3 weeks. Now I want to go back. For a month.

Absolutely! My husband was pickpocketed on the Circum and it was a nightmare.

I wore jeans and before I left, I had a button put on my front pocket,,,, to keep prying hands out of my pocket. I only felt uneasy once, and asked my family to come over and watch my back

That was smart. I wear a small crossbody bag and clutch it with one hand and hang on to the strap with the other. My husband now wears a money belt.
