Need help with first trip to Greece.

Hi all. My wife and i want to go to Greece this fall (likely September/October-ish). Probably 10 days or so. Can anyone offer up some thoughts for our initial draft itinerary? I hear that Athens should be a quick visit and that we should focus on the islands; but, we are absolutely open to all ideas at this point. Thank you in advance.

September and October are perfect for Greece with good weather and fewer tourists. Spend 2 days in Athens, then split the rest between islands like Santorini and Naxos or Paros for a mix of views and relaxation.

it really does depend what you do and don’t like! Athens is fabulous if you know where to go and like the restaurant / bar scene. It also has a stunning coastline that will make you feel like you’re on an island. If you want to experience the traditional postcard greece then the Cyclades islands are typically where people go for a first trip perhaps 3x Mykonos 3x Paros or Naxos 2 x Santorini
