Not just there.....here in the mountains we're getting a storm a day. I know much of Europe is in a heatwave but up here it's one of the worst summers for ages. The weather is totally unpredictable, weather forecasts unreliable, it's safer just to look out of the window or run for home if you're out and clouds start to come up. In the last week there have been three violent storms with enormous hailstones in the area.

In the Veneto area 110 people needed medical attention due to being hit by hail as big as tennis balls.......

For more on how vulnerable Italy's landscapes are to climate change, an article from today's Guardian :

"The collapse of a glacier in the Dolomites and a landslide on the island of Ischia. Devastating floods, wildfires and record-breaking heatwaves. The worst drought of the Po, Italy’s longest river, in 200 years. Luca Mercalli, an Italian climatologist, has seen his fair share of extreme weather events in Italy within the past two years. But nothing prepared him for the scene in Mortegliano, a small town in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, the northern region bordering Slovenia."
