Winter Travel in Europe

Br & Be

New Member
We are just now preparing to book tix for December. We intend to follow our dream of having an actual/reliable "White Christmas." Local traveling friends and an airline pilot friend are telling us to stay far away from Europe this winter as the issues with heating fuels will become critical unless something ends the Ukrainian problem. Any thoughts, suggestions?

Where did you plan to go? Some parts of Europe have a white Christmas and some parts don't. If you intend to go to the Alps, heat could be a challenge. In other spots temperatures could be in the 40's and 50's F.

Even without adequate heat it can be very doable if you are prepared.

Yes the concern about heating fuels and gas in particular is a legitimate one. Perhaps this can be mitigated by looking through the various stats published through the news articles, to see who has been most reliant on Russia, and who is much less affected. Let that guide (to a degree) where you go.
