I don't know who Sarah and Mark are, but several people that I know have donated items in an auction being held to raise money for them. Link to auction. There are 43 items in the auction and some are accommodations in Italy. I going after a week at Giulia's Valle Nuova where we stayed two years ago.

This page explains who they are.

Sarah and Mark are funny, caring, wonderful people who are always the first to lend a helpping hand. Their efforts for earthquake victims (and the animal victims) is amazing!

Sarah and Mark are Brits who moved to Le Marche and opened a B&B and vacation rentals place. We stayed there; it's nicely done. They put a lot into the renovation and have made it a really special place. It's called The Hideaway, and it is; tucked away near Amandola but not too far from town, it's a quiet relaxing spot. They're very sweet.

They took on the task of caring for the animal victims of the Amatrice earthquake, the unknown victims in a sense, whose owners died, or being homeless themselves couldn't find their pets again. Sarah and Mark were the ones who cared for the animals and found homes for the ones left homeless.

Their own home was badly damaged, while the rooms they rent out weren't. So, to help them, there is the auction. Or of course, you can help by booking a stay at the Hideaway!
