Happy to join yet another great travel board. My wife & I live in newly trendy Brooklyn, but we're old enough to remember it when it wasn't hipster heaven. We're retired and try to travel enough to satisfy our urge to see everything, yet leave enough time to enjoy home. This is being written on my I-Pad from the living room of our rental apartment in Vaison-la-Romaine (Provence), where we're staying for almost a month, so I have nothing to complain about. Although this is our first south of Paris trip in France, we've spent significant time in Northern Italy, including a month in another apt. in Florence last year & one in Hawaii the year before. We also enjoy touring visitors around NYC & providing info. about our area as needed.

Besides travel, we're avid restaurant go'ers & tennis players. And, for folk who spend so much time on internet boards, we're still relatively sane & even tempered.

We just returned from a week in Uzes, not far from Vaison. I was looking for an apartment in Vaison, but everything was booked. I bet that is a fun place to stay!

Vaison is a great base & we're having a blast here. Our landlords live downstairs and they're great people. Uzes was one of the other places we considered, since someone we "know" on a food board lived there for years before returning to the states & loved it.

It's on VRBO, the one that's advertised (accurately) as having a bird's eye view of the Roman ruins from the windows. Landlords are the Viviani's. It's a 2 bedroom, 2.5 bath place with just about everything. #387624
