Cornish Gems - Seascape
Size: 3bed/2bath, attached house on two levels
Location: Marazion, near St Michaels Mount and Penzance in West Cornwall

Date: September 2017, 1 week

This is a fabulous house in a great location. The house is on two levels and is "upside down" with bedrooms on the lower floor. Comfortable furnishings, good kitchen (except the fridge froze my vegetables but hopefully they will get that fixed), spacious. Large terrace on ground level, small balcony on the upper level.

The house is a row house - attached to other houses - and is right on the water. The views are incredible. Watching the sea is incredible. When the tide is in it feels like the house is sitting over the water. The house is on top of a tall seawall, so you are well above the water. You can walk from the house down to the sand when the tide is out.

From the house it is a few minutes walk to the village center, but there are only a few shops and restaurants. For groceries you have to go to the supermarkets near Penzance. There is a natural foods shop and a quality bakery in Penzance. The best thing about Marazion is St Michaels Mount. From the house you look right at it. When the tide is out you can walk out to it from the village (you have a 4 hour window around low tide). Otherwise small boats take people back and forth.

We have rented from Cornish Gems before. They have very nice properties.

We visited Pauline and Steve and this house and it's really fabulous.... you will want to spend hours on the terrace enjoying the views. We like the small village of Marazion a lot. The big supermarkets are just a short drive away. Penzance is kind of a working-town and is also close.

Love this part of Cornwall too!
