Day trip to Basel?

My wife and I will be staying near Colmar for 7 nights in August and are wondering if a daytrip to Basel, Switzerland is a good idea. My wife has difficulty walking and uses a foldable mobility scooter. Does anyone know if Basel is accessible?

I've been to Basel but can't remember how accessible it was. If you don't receive the information you need from the Slow Europe Travel Forum, I recommend trying the MySwissAlps forum //www.myswissalps.com The people who run the forum are extremely knowledgeable about everything Switzerland, and you get assistance from travelers, just like Slow Europe.

Thank you for your information.

I’ve been to Basel twice, just for a night. It is a lovely city. I remember it as being somewhat flat. But, as advised above, that forum will have more information.

You could also contact the tourist office. Swiss Tourist Offices are usually very good and will respond to emails.

I loved walking along the river and the main historic square. Very beautiful. Have a great trip!
