Hilton hotel close to Heathrow?

Can anyone recommend a Hilton property near Heathrow airport?

I arrive really late at night and think it'll be better to stay near the airport rather than figuring out transport into London after traveling 16 hours.
I have a bazillion Hilton points I can use!
Thank you.

We've stayed at the Renaissance at Heathrow and it was not great. Heavy air freshener in the lobby, but none in the rooms. No shuttle but a bus that goes to all the hotels. The hotels are along one road and you can't walk out anywhere. The Hilton is a bit further out.

Only the Sofitel is attached to the airport and it is pricey.

I would not stay at the airport. Take the Heathrow Express train into London. It won't take much longer than getting to the airport hotel.

Gatwick is different. The Sofitel is less expensive and we have stayed there a few times. You can leave your car with them for a good rate. And there is a Premier Inn attached to the airport too (a good, less expensive chain).

Will you be coming to our rental? Remember, we're a bit out in the hinterlands, which might be harder to navigate late at night. Shannon had me book a room for my first night at the Arosfa Hotel, which she says is close to the Piccadilly line and easy to get to from LHR.

Yes! I'm leaning towards a morning rendezvous with you guys :) after a night's sleep.

I haven't decided yet if I can (or want to) do carry-on only this trip, so gathering luggage may add time upon arrival.

Yes, if you're using Hilton points, the Paddington Hilton is attached to Paddington station where the Heathrow Express arrives.

As far as hotels attached to the terminal, it depends on the terminal: there is a Hilton attached to Terminal 4.

I have stayed at both the Hilton Heathrow Terminal 4 and the so-called Hilton Heathrow Terminal 5. I thought both were very nice Hiltons. The first one is attached to Terminal 4 by a covered walkway. The Terminal 5 Hilton isn't really that close to Terminal 5. We took a taxi since we didn't want to wait for the bus, but it was about a 15 minute taxi ride away.

When we stayed in the Terminal 4 Hilton, we had arrived at Terminal 4 to catch an onward flight planned to Washington Dulles. Our flight was cancelled because of Superstorm Sandy and we ended up spending 3 nights in the hotel. Had we known that was going to happen, we probably would have tried to find a hotel in London instead, but we were able to take the Tube into London each day and enjoy some unplanned sightseeing.

We stayed at the Hilton Heathrow Terminal 4 this past July after our 2 week trip to Wales. We spent our last day in Oxford visiting friends and drove to the hotel late at night after dropping off our Sixt rental car. We thought the hotel was great! Our flight was delayed 3-4 hours, so we asked for a delayed checkout and they immediately granted it. We had a nice breakfast (included) in the morning, went back to our room and napped until we had to walk over for our flight. It is an easy walk under a covered walkway to Terminal 4 - the Delta checkin counters were right there as you entered the terminal. Could not have been easier.

Worth also considering the Hilton at Paddington. It's one of their fancier hotels (we got a great rate there many years ago, when Expedia had just started and they suggested it when we phoned them up). The hotel is a couple of minutes walk from Paddington train station and the Heathrow Express train is direct, fast and frequent (albeit a little bit pricey). Definitely easily doable even with hideous jetlag.
