Felicity Cloake is a food writer for the UK paper The Guardian. I love her detailed recipes where she tries different approaches and decides which one is best. She has published a travel/food memoir about biking and eating around France in 2017. I am almost finished it and really like it even though much of the food part is meat oriented (and I am a vegetarian).
She writes about the foods for each region, then eats them where she can. She writes about the towns she visits and the routes she takes. She bicycles with friends in some parts, alone in others. She camps or stays in inexpensive hotels. She does not bike the whole way but takes trains in some parts and she makes a circle around France.
