Places you've stayed for a week or more

A week or longer:
Italy:
Venice
Florence
Rome
Levanto
Cinque Terre/Monterrosa
Ravenna
Palazzo San Gervasio (Basilicata region)
Cagliari, Sardegna

Paris, France
Aix en Provence ,France
Munich, Germany
Copenhagen, Denmark
Zurich, Switzerland
Grindlewald Switzerland
London, England
Amsterdam,Holland
Costa Brava, Spain
Barcelona, Spain

I have just scratched the surface of places in the world to explore. Sprinkled amongst longer stays there were the day trips and mini stays in many wonderful cities. On my very first trip to Europe I camped for three months throughout France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Belgium, & Switzerland. We had a little car and drove with a devil may care attitude to wherever the road led. Many wonderful adventures, many life long friendships made and a lesson well learned at a young age. That lesson being "one of the best classrooms is to travel the world over and to gain appreciation for different cultures and their people."

My list is not very long at all but I sure enjoyed being there.
London
Paris
Cambridge, Eng.
Strasbourg, Fr.
Istanbul
Rome
Gaeta, Italy
Florence
Venice
Umbria

Now I feel like Crazy Stalking Lady, Pauline.

And here's my list:

We tend to be creatures of habit and return to much-loved places, whereas others tend to be explorers or perhaps have more opportunity to travel. And we've visited many other places in northern and central Europe for less than a week as part of our trips. Overall, we're very happy we get to do as much as we do!

Do bus tours within the same country where we come from count? My first slow and extremely affordable weeklong trip was with a brännöbuss tour in Sweden. From Stockholm, we went to one major city after another, and dropped by preselected tourist spots. Lodging was cheap since we stayed in student hostels.

I also attended an open forum in Argentina for about 2 weeks, but stayed for 3 altogether because I stayed behind for 6 days.

I had to think about this!

London
Umbria-Spello
Puglia-Ostuni
Piemonte- 1 trip San Martino de Alfieri, 1 trip Cocconatto
Sicily-1 week Ortigia, another 2 weeks hopping around the island
Venice
Rome
Tuscany-1 trip near Firenze; 1 trip in Cetona
Campagnia-Santa Maria di Castellabate
Le Marche-Cagli
Bologna
Paris
Burgundy-Epoisse
Alsace-near Riquewhr
The Gard-Uzes
the Vaucluse-Vaison-la-Romaine
Nice
Barcelona
Israel--5 trips of 10 days each (for work, so doesn't count I guess)

Wish Lists--More time in Spain, Greece, extended stays in different area of Great Britain. Japan, Thailand

Paris: twice, for two weeks each time. (Not enough!)
Edinburgh
Venice, twice.
Florence; many times.

Airola (Campania)
Bologna
Castellabate (Campania)

When I was working, I used to take a lot of 1-week trips, Saturday to Saturday, to maximize my vacation time.

So I would typically go to big cities and day trip from there.

Now I'm looking more at entry and exit points and are more prone to move around.

I'm afraid I'm doing less slow traveling as time has gone on. I definitely return to many places. Going back to NZ, Amalfi Coast, Florence/Tuscany/Venice next year.

Returning makes it more likely to spend just a couple of days before moving around the region than staying put.

And not Europe, but I'm including so my list is a little longer. :D

I just saw this fun topic pop up again and wanted to reply but then saw that I had already replied 8 years ago. So I decided for fun again to see what places I have added to my original list. But let's just say 6 years later, since 2 years of no travel due to Covid should not count.

Adding to my one week & longer list:
Lisbon, Portugal (2019)
Barcelona, Spain (2016)
Tokyo, Japan (2017)
