Alpsunne Apartment
Dates of Stay: September 2022, September 2023, September 2024 - 2 to 3 weeks each time
Agency: FerienLizenz. Based in another part of Switzerland but with several apartments in Lenk.
Link: https://www.ferienlizenz.ch/
We’ve been renting from FerienLizenz for three years. They are easy to deal with. You can book online or by email (or phone). They speak English and reply promptly. 1/2 payment on booking and the rest 45 days before can be paid by credit card. Self checkin with programmed keys either mailed to you or available with a code from a box at the apartment.
The Alpsunne apartments are 1 mile from the center of Lenk on a quiet road with farms, other chalets and fields. There are two buildings - A closer to the road, and B. Both are three stories with three apartments on the top two levels and one on the ground floor. There is covered parking in front of the building. There is a laundry room on the ground level (paid). There is an elevator. I feel building B has better views because it is not next to another chalet and we always rent on the top floor.
We rent a 2bed/2bath end apartment on the top floor. The apartments are spacious with nice furnishings. They have a large TV with Netflix, etc. Beds are the Swiss style of two large singles on one large frame, so they stay together, with comfortable foam mattresses. The apartment is a bit sparsely furnished. They could use a desk or shelves. There is a good wardrobe in each bedroom.
There is a large balcony with an incredible view in front and a smaller balcony on the side. The front balcony has a table and comfortable chairs.
I really like this apartment. It is quiet and peaceful, easy to get into town, priced similar to most apartments in the area.

We took the tunnel and overnighted in Arras and Colmar, arriving Thursday afternoon in Lenk. We are staying in the AlpSunne apartments on the outskirts of this small mountain town. This is our third stay in this apartment. We’ve tried several apartments around town over the years.
In the tunnel on the car-train heading to France.

Berner Oberland Thread 'A Few Weeks in Switzerland, September 2022'
We leave for Switzerland tomorrow, driving from the UK. We’ve been doing this trip every September for several years now. We will be doing the same driving plan - drive to the Chunnel and into France, first night in Arras, second night in Colmar, arrive Friday after in Lenk (in the Berner Oberland near Gstaad/Saanen).
I’ve booked a different apartment because the place we usually stay had a big price rise and the new agency is a bit difficult to deal with now. Too bad - I loved that apartment right in the town center. We will be a bit outside of town (15 minute walk to the center) but on...

Sunny and hot, 73F
We are here! The three day drive felt longer than usual but we did it. First night in Arras, second in Vittel where the spring water comes from (owned by Nestle). I loved Vittel! Usually we spend the second night in Colmar or Basel, but I wanted to make that second day drive a bit shorter.
Vittel is small but in an area with many other towns (Epinal is nearby) and other springs. Lots of forests in this area. We walked around the Thermal Park and saw the springs. The town is charming. I would consider spending a week here sometime soon...

We left Dorset Tuesday morning to drive to Switzerland. We’ve been doing this trip every September for several years now and this year we also did the trip in June.
