Amazon Prime Video has certain shows you can watch when not in your home region, but you can't watch everything. We use a VPN (Witopia) to make it look like we are in the UK, but on this trip (Israel, November 2018) Amazon detects the VPN. We tried two locations in the UK and one in the US - nothing worked. Amazon Prime Video lets us watch certain shows, but we can't download them.
I had downloaded a few shows before we left and we were able to watch them. So if you plan on watching anything on Amazon Prime Video, download the shows before you leave.
Amazon Prime Video has an app for the iPad where you can download shows, but it does not have an app for my Surface (Windows) so I can only stream on that.
