Fire at Rome's FCO

Wow! Thanks for the head-up chiaro! I arrive Terminal 3 next Wednesday morning. They appear to have managed to work through the initial chaos but I'm certain there will be some impacts - but nothing like the horrible disruption of being diverted to other airports...

From the article: "Only about 50 per cent of flights are operating to and from Rome’s Fiumicino airport on Friday 8 May, the day after a major fire gutted a section of Terminal 3, which is used for international flights."

Not good in such a prime travel time! They should have things organized by the time you all fly.

I'm arriving at FCO on May 17th.
Air Canada has not had an advisory for a few days, but this appeared this morning. And we are delayed by 1 & 1/2 hours.

Also, thanks to Heidi and others for reporting back.

We were delayed by a couple of hours leaving Toronto due late arrival of our plane from Europe. Got off plane, down several steps, on bus to terminal 3 FCO to clear customs. Very few in EU line. Hundreds in all other passport lines. Only a couple of agents working for first part. Was in line more then 1. 1/2 hours. Luggage was already removed so had to search floor fjor it. RomeCabs still waiting for us, but unpleasantly said he waited over 2 hours. Not a nice welcome to Rome. Anyway, no sign of fire on arrival.
