Northern Italy? I see mountains behind and power lines. Interesting frescoes on the outside of the church (usually inside). The tower looks Italian.

I can see a gondola in the background. If not the Ticino (southern), then I think maybe eastern Switzerland? It just doesn't look like the Berner Oberland or the Valais.

That's not a Madonna is it? Who is this woman holding a wreath?

I think it is in the Engadin, eastern Switzerland, near St Moritz.

In 1996 we spent two weeks in Davos and did day trips to St Moritz and into the Engadin. I remember the town of Zuoz and found a photo of mine with paintings on the buildings, somewhat similar to your church. We went to Locarno in the Ticino after Davos. Twenty years ago - how is that possible?
