Saw this during our walk today. I am not sure if it is really a tree, so unusual looking. Couldn't see the lower part of this unusual tree. It has flowers and fruit.

For something completely different, here's a photo we came across today while going through a box of old photographs. I wanted to send it to my sisters so decided to scan it, and thought it might be worth sharing. This is my mother in 1937, with her class of first graders, when she was a teacher in North Carolina. Notice that at least a few of the kids whose feet you can see are barefoot -- they probably couldn't afford shoes in the Depression era.
