Previews in links

Contest 2019 Winner!
I don't know if the proper term is preview, thumbnail, or something else, but I've been wondering about links that show with titles and a few lines from the linked page, such as this post: how to do that as opposed to simply having text in our posts link to a page. In this case I see that the opening text doesn't quite match what's on the CNN page, but maybe it was edited after the link was posted.

If you post a link, not linked text, the preview is generated. This is a new feature. Below I pasted in the link to this thread.

Does the linked page, or URL, need to have certain features for it to work? Or something else about the text around it? In the topic I'm linking here, as I preview before posting it, there isn't a preview if I put the URL after my text, but there is if I put it first. In that topic post itself, the linked Forbes page doesn't show a preview.

I searched for info about this and can’t find anything. Maybe you have to leave a blank line before. Test with no blank line before.

How to Find Information

Search using the search button in the upper right. Search all forums or current forum by keyword or member. Advanced search gives you more options.

Filter forum threads using the filter pulldown above the threads. Filter by prefix, member, date. Or click on a thread title prefix to see all threads with that prefix.
