Yes.
Tim: it's calcium deposits, not salt, I believe.
When I went there in 1997, people were climbing all over them, and they were getting ruined.
In 2008 when I went back, there was a carefully designed pathway thru them and you couldn't just get into a pool.
Much better preserved then; anyone know what they are like nowadays?

As the previous statue has gained no responses, try two more in the same place.

Correct region, wrong city.
Here are two more - there are 17 in total - some of them well hidden.

It was the Cat that gave it away
Sienna?

If it's Siena then I can't wait to see these sculptures...where are they located?

I'll be there Sept. 23-30th! It will be here in no time :)

It is indeed Siena.
I have been lucky enough to spend over nearly 3 months there at various times, and know the city quite well.
There are 17 "contrade" , each with it's own symbol, flag, church, stable and fountain. The 5 images posted were (from top to bottom) the fountain of Tartuca (Turtle), Statues from the headquarters of Drago (Dragon) and Chiocciola (Snail), and again fountains of Torre (Tower) and Pantera (Panther).

PokeyMindy - I could tell you, but it is more fun to discover them by accident while walking around.
Nearly every street corner has a contrada marker , so it's usually pretty easy to see in which area you are.

Here is a list you can use to check them off as you visit the lovely city of Siena. (one N not two :()
Contrade of Siena

Since I do not think we have been to church for awhile here is our next photo to identify
