Award yourself bonus points if you know the locals' nickname for this statue, which I took about 20 years ago (apologies for the wobbliness, I snatched the moment because of the child, as you can see)

Is this a photo of "The Floozy in the Jacuzzi" that used to be in O'Connell street in Dublin. (I think its official name had something to do with being a representation of the River Liffy)

I've never seen it , but we went looking for it on a trip to the Irish capital, only to be told it had been removed to make way for a spire. I believe it has since been relocated to a park.

Yes, that's what it is, or was. I see from Google that it does now appear to be in a park. This was an attempt to raise the tone with a figure of Joyce's Anna Livia Plurabelle, the spirit of the Liffey.

My understanding is that it got its nickname because an earlier icon of Dublin, a statue of Molly Malone wheeling her barrow through streets broad and narrow, had been affectionately known as "The Tart With The Cart".

Your turn!

Ok, some good clues in here, scene of the weekly market.

Pure guess work, but to judge by the number of young people standing around and on bicycles, it's a university town and in Italy - Bologna?

Hi Patrick
Not Bologna. However yes there is a University here, founded in 1391 so t'internet says, with 16,000 students. I wouldn't be so sure they are all students though.
regards
Ian

p.s. Italy is correct

Another very good guess, and you are correct it is in one of those regions, but not Padua/Padova.

Hi Tim
Yes indeed it is. I was hoping the cyclists in shot would be a big clue, though that row of old shops is also quite distinctive, ditto the bell tower. Your go :)
Regards
Ian
